Nara
The ancient capital of Japan (710 A.D.). Best mix of history & scenary I saw. The pictures below are mostly of Todai-ji temple, largest wooden structure in the world. The large wooden statues it houses were tough to photograph due to there size and the poor lighting. Unfortunately, the pictures of the giant Budha (15 m. high) didn't come out. Maybe I'll have a better flash next time.
